About the role
This position is responsible for maintaining and operating liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment, performing intermediate gas/chemical troubleshooting and repairs, conducting daily rounds, and contributing to emergency response efforts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
- Perform intermediate gas/chemical troubleshooting and repair of delivery equipment
- Conduct daily rounds including recording readings, completing safety inspections, monitoring online gas and chemical systems, verifying toxic gas monitoring operations, and completing chemical tote/drum and gas cylinder change-outs
- Verify that daily rounds are recorded
- Determine corrective action to be taken in the event of abnormal parameters and ensure that corrective action is completed
- Monitor and understand correct liquid bulk delivery procedures for each product on site
- Provide information for and initiate proper reporting procedures per on-site policies including, but not limited to: Quality Incident Reports, product acceptance, tank fill, inventory and material usage, bulk gas analysis, analyzer calibration, monitoring, safety parameters, and personnel requirements
- Avoid gas/chemical-related manufacturing problems
- Contribute as an Emergency Response Team member/coordinator
- Commission and start up specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
- Participate in customer and Air Liquide programs including, but not limited to: Safety, Training, Operations, and Preventive Maintenance
- Foster the development and training of TGCM contractors and TGCM Tech 5 & 6 employees
- Develop and maintain applicable site-specific work instructions
- Comply with all applicable HS&E Standards including, but not limited to: PPE, Forklift Operations, Lock Out/Tag Out Program, Confined Space Entry, etc.
- Deliver on team objectives following existing procedures
- Perform minor analytical procedures and/or sampling procedures
- Dedicated to ensuring the safety of all persons, and general public surrounding facilities
- Hazardous Waste Technician (at applicable operations locations): Ensure proper transfer of materials to the dock hazardous waste storage area, including utilization of appropriate maintenance, documentation, equipment, labeling, and procedures
- Follow proper procedures for handling spills/emergencies, pour-up of materials, segregation of compatible materials, preparation for waste/containers for shipment, and forklift operation
- Support waste minimization programs/activities, and maintain understanding of applicable hazardous waste laws
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent OR 5+ years of experience
- 4+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment
- Knowledge of all proper reporting procedures per onsite operations policy, including product acceptance criteria, tank fill, inventory and material usage, monitoring, safety parameters and personnel requirements
- Demonstrate ability to coordinate and supervise a group of technicians on a project
- Electro-mechanical aptitude
- Display aptitude for controlling an emergency situation and coordinating problem solving actions
- Able to understand and abide by stringent safety rules
- Demonstrate ability to train junior technicians
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 60 lbs, stand/walk up to 10 hours per day, operate hydraulic foot pump (55 gallon drums - drums could be up to 500 lbs), and wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the semiconductor or chemical/specialty gas field, military technical/electronic rating or nuclear field, or equivalent industry.
