About the role

Get your start with us. Middle Seat is a digital consulting firm that works with campaigns, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and causes on the front lines of reproductive justice, racial justice, climate action, immigration rights, and economic justice. We’re looking for a creative self-starter to support our Texting team as a paid intern for FALL 2026 (August 31 – November 20, 2026).

Responsibilities

  • Learn the ins and outs of mobile fundraising and donor engagement
  • Work closely with our texting team to draft fundraising copy, build and QA text campaigns
  • Maintain reporting databases
  • Analyze performance data
  • Pitch creative ideas
  • Auxiliary administrative tasks and other responsibilities

Requirements

  • Excited to work with progressive clients doing impactful work
  • Strong writer with great grammar and self-proofreading skills
  • Enjoy the idea of testing creative messaging and analyzing performance
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Technically adept and pick up new tools easily
  • Follows politics and stays up to date with the news
  • Senior, in your final year of an undergraduate program, or recent graduate
  • Experience with digital fundraising or political communications
  • Experience on a political campaign, advocacy organization, or nonprofit
  • Experience with spreadsheets, reporting, or data tracking
  • Familiarity with texting or CRM tools
  • Excellent writing with a strong creative voice

Qualifications

  • Committed to working for progressive political candidates and causes
  • Team player
  • Understanding of the U.S. political system and key progressive issues
  • Full-time (40-hour work week) or near full-time availability
  • Based in the United States

Benefits

We offer a salary of $23 per hour.
