About the role

Under direction of engineering staff or physical scientists assists in all phases of the design, development, production, testing, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, tools, and industrial machinery in the area of specialization (Design, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering). Inspects product functions and monitors test procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional professional customer service with various industrial companies, energy companies, internal and external stakeholders, etc.
• Carry out system, equipment maintenance and repair as needed
• Forklift operation for loading and unloading pipe samples (training available)
• Sample preparation may require long hours both inside and outside cutting with various handheld instruments
• Lab/shop and partial office environment with continuous and repeated standing
• Physical effort required with exposure to 5–7 elements/conditions, moderate mental effort
• Lifting/carrying by weight (pounds) and frequency/duration in which action is required
• Endurance such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing, or driving, and frequency/duration in which action is required
• Self-starter, able to work independently on tasks with a focus on safety
• Other work duties as assigned

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

• Detail-oriented, experience with quality standards and processes
• Test and sample setup and testing skills
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• High energy, customer focused and a positive success-oriented attitude
