This role is part of our Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business, which designs, develops, and delivers highly dependable missile systems for hypersonic and strategic missile defense missions. We provide integrated, mission-ready hardware that brings together multiple technologies into unified systems engineered to perform in demanding operational environments. Our tip-to-tail capabilities include payload protection and deployment systems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic interstage systems, separation systems, missile subsystems, shroud systems, launch systems, and payload integration solutions. The Test Technician subjects mission-critical hardware to extreme conditions that simulate real-world environments, supporting testing from component-level pressure tests to full-system functional tests. Working with engineers and senior technicians, this role sets up and executes tests, supports environmental testing, and helps ensure test activities are performed safely, accurately, and according to established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supports test setup and execution in collaboration with engineers and senior technicians.
• Assists with test planning and execution, including test design, analysis, procedures, test plans, and data collection.
• Performs setup and teardown of fixturing, equipment, and instrumentation according to engineering procedures.
• Performs component-level pressure testing and full-system functional testing.
• Supports environmental testing, including thermal, shock, and vibration testing.
• Applies military and commercial testing specifications during test activities.
• Maintains and improves test laboratory equipment and facilities as required.
• Works independently with limited supervision while maintaining effective communication and interpersonal relationships.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a test environment based on previous work experience.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a Washington State explosives license and work with energetic devices.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Understanding of safety practices related to heavy industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with common office applications.
• This position requires U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher.
• Familiarity with crane operation and lifting equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Uses stairs.
• Stands for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts 50+ pounds.
