Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Solves a wide variety of technical problems by utilizing knowledge for testing and troubleshooting of electronic as well as mechanical systems.
- Analyzes requests to find suitable solutions to prototypes, production, or field failures.
- Organizes data and prepares documentation for assigned projects.
- Works independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Fulfills tasks and is responsible for results.
- Works closely with hardware and software engineers.
- Presents and resolves hardware or software problems.
- Processes and completes moderately complex tasks involving documentation, databases, and failure investigation support.
- Independently constructs standard lab test setups; accurately and clearly records test results.
Qualifications
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while organizing their time and work area to be effective.
- Able to read PCB schematics and troubleshoot failures down to PCB component level.
- Familiarity with inspection and rework to IPC standards for circuit boards and cable assemblies.
Education And Experience
- Associates degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of technician experience.
- Experience with using standard electronics testing equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
- Experience with PCB testing and qualification, communicating results effectively in oral and written form, including technical reports.
- Experience with data entry into database forms and/or ERP systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis.
- Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively.
- Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
- Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
