Test & Validation Section Manager

About the role

The Test & Validation Section Manager position will report directly to a Manufacturing Engineering Department Manager within the Integrated Manufacturing Center. This role is responsible for managing a team of test engineers who drive product test integrity, improve test processes, and influence testability in the product design.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize tasks to meet the customer's needs
• Cook up and manage team staffing levels
• Interface with strategic make center personnel and leaders
• Train, coach, mentor, and ensure each engineer performs to the standards set by the Factory and Manufacturing Engineering
• Ensure the technical quality of engineering tasks, product compliance, and provide critical oversight to the team of engineers
• Develop and implement sustaining solutions to routine technical problems, troubleshoot manufacturing and test systems, and lead root cause and corrective action
• Participate or lead functional or factory improvement projects
• Lead in a highly technical environment with a broad scope of products and customers

Requirements

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 5 years related experience
• Experience in leading people/teams
• The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Qualifications

• Experience with lean principles in a manufacturing and test environment
• Preferred majors: Electrical/Aerospace/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering Technology
• Strong experience supporting, maintaining, and improving test systems
• Experience with test equipment prove-ins
• Experience with automated test equipment systems
