About the role
The Technician III – Test operates and monitors climatic and thermal vacuum chambers to support engineering development and production. This role is part of the Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit, which plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor climatic and thermal vacuum chambers in accordance with customer requirements for aerospace production products and assemblies.
- Provide technical expertise for test setups within thermal vacuum chambers, including routing plumbing and mating electrical connections.
- Prepare and maintain all required test logs, build records, and reports in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Review and interpret schematics, drawings, specifications, and procedures to ensure full compliance and completeness.
- Utilize computer interfaces and automated equipment to input, collect, and analyze test data.
- Operate company-owned vehicles as required (requires valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record).
- Implement Safety Health and Environment (SHE) processes, recognize hazardous materials, and execute corrective actions.
- Identify and suggest productivity and process efficiency improvements; participate in special projects.
- Perform daily 6S tasks to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
- Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years or more related experience.
- Basic Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Aerospace knowledge.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and assimilate data to resolve complex technical situations.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute technical process specifications and standards.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and retrieval via system interfaces.
- The ability to be trained and obtain specialized certifications required to perform job operations (Clean room, ESD, FOD, Crane, Forklift, Test Conductor).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise them in a technical environment.
- A self-starter, ambitious, and conscientious person with very high attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment, tooling and fixtures.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Aerospace, spacecraft, instrument, sub-assembly, experience is very beneficial.
- Experience in environmental testing (e.g., Thermal Vacuum, Vibration, EMC/EMI) is highly desirable.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $57,319 - $91,710
