Job Summary
As a Test Technician at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties related to the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies and products. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of products before they reach our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute standardized test procedures on electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products using various test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, functional testers).
- Identify and diagnose failures, defects, or performance issues in products through systematic troubleshooting techniques.
- Document test results accurately and completely, including pass/fail status, observed defects, and corrective actions taken.
- Perform basic repairs or rework on failed units, which may involve soldering, component replacement, or software reloads, following established procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to provide feedback on product performance, identify root causes of failures, and suggest improvements.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment as required, reporting any malfunctions or calibration needs to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere strictly to all quality standards, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize test processes and efficiency.
- Aid in the development and validation of new test fixtures and procedures as needed.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on test processes and equipment operation.
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing or test environment, preferably with experience in high-volume production.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits, and test methodologies.
- Experience with common electronic test equipment (e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, spectrum analyzer).
- Experience with basic soldering and rework techniques (IPC standards preferred).
- Solid computer skills, including experience with data entry, spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and potentially test automation software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods.
