Position Summary
The Test Technician B will perform moderately complex testing procedures to ensure product reliability and performance. This role works under general supervision and supports engineering, quality, and operations teams by conducting testing, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining equipment in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Key Position Accountabilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust manual and automated test equipment to perform routine and moderately complex testing.
- Execute established test protocols to verify functionality and performance of products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex testing issues, escalating advanced problems to senior technicians or engineering.
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Record test data accurately and prepare summaries for review by engineering and quality teams.
- Follow established test procedures and provide feedback on potential improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying ways to improve efficiency and reduce testing errors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including the use of protective gear and safe handling of test materials.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with standard electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, auto-test systems, temperature chambers, etc.).
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and resolve routine to moderately complex test issues.
- Knowledge of electronic testing procedures and methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting test results.
Qualifications
- Technical, vocational, or military training in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a test technician role working with electronic systems or components.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work under general supervision.
Physical Demands
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to use small tools and microscopes.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods during testing.
- Must be able to lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
