Test Technician
Responsibilities
- Test products as directed
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests of products using specified test protocols
- Perform visual evaluation and dimensional measurement of product
- Use fixed, preset, or work manual established measuring instruments
- Make testing schedules and reservation of equipment
- Use dimensional measuring tools to measure product & components
- Propose measuring procedures
- Ensure calibration equipment is sent out by deadline
- Data collection, analysis and reporting:
- Conduct gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies
- Recommend improvements to the measurement system
- Carry out data analysis
- Create reports
- Propose recommendations
- Record test and measurement data using statistical process control procedures
- Present data results in the appropriate test report formats
- Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions for moderately complex issues/problems
Requirements
- Ensure projects and assignments are completed accurately and within a timely manner
- Use durability equipment with/without data acquisition
- Interpret and develop operating instructions from complex blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications and electrical schematics
- Support equipment maintenance
- Maintain all test equipment in the Test/Prototype areas according to established procedures
- Schedule and plan for yearly maintenance
- Develop maintenance system to proactively resolve problems before they occur
Education and Experience
- 2+ Years Testing experience
- Ability to work positively and effectively in a multi-cultural environment
- Computer literacy (MA Office and e-mail systems), Data Acquisition software a plus
- Knowledge of MIOSHA Safety Compliance
- Mathematical skills (algebra, geometry & trigonometry)
- Ability to use dimensional measuring tools Gauging, calibration systems and measurement systems analysis
