What You'll Be Doing
- Testing & Inspection: Perform functional, electrical and mechanical tests on LV switchgear assemblies
- Verify wiring, torque settings and component installation against engineering drawings
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity and operational checks per test procedures
- Collaborate with design and production teams to decide testing requirements
- Participate in our customer FAT / FOK / FWT processes
- Troubleshoot and rectify electrical issues found during testing
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all testing activities comply with electrical safety standards and company procedures
- Use appropriate PPE and follow lockout / tagout protocols during testing
Documentation
- Complete detailed test reports and maintain accurate records of results for relevant stakeholders
- Report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis
Equipment & Tools
- Operate and maintain test equipment e.g. multi-meters, insulation testers, high-potential testers
- Ensure all tools utilised in our testing program comply with our calibration program, ensuring they are in good working condition
Continuous Improvement
- Capture data on repeated failure modes to the Production / Supply Chain team to ensure we drive continuous improvement across all feed-in processes
- Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with production, project management, and engineering, ensuring clear and effective communication
- Provide feedback on test procedures and suggest improvements
- Support quality initiatives and participate in corrective actions when required
Requirements
- Associate's degree in electrical power distribution or related field
- +3 years' experience working in an Electrical Testing role is desired
- Familiar with all relevant standards including UL, NEMA, ANSI, and NETA, and maintain NFPA 70E
- Experience in product testing, inspection and quality audits
- Knowledge of data analysis tools for identifying trends and discrepancies
- Experience working within a Manufacturing environment
- Experience in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Expertise in power distribution products such as switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, RPPs etc
- NFPA 70E certification is preferred but will be provided by CEL
Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry standards, including UL891, UL62368-1, UL508A, UL67, UL1008, UL1008S, UL1558
- Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and multitasking capability
- Professional communication skills suitable for interfacing with customers
