Position Summary

Carry out procedural tests on production, engineering, and qualification products, including incoming materials necessary to meet customer needs. Responsible for understanding and using all electrical, mechanical, and optical test equipment, test fixtures, and procedures. Knowledgeable in basic electronics, electrical theories, and Ohm’s law. Troubleshoot setup and product issues independently. Maintain working knowledge of 802.3 Ethernet standards. Ensure security and calibration control for all quality verification equipment. Report errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and router to support teams (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering). Complete documentation (shop packs and FATs) accurately and promptly. Enter data into the IFS system accurately and promptly. Maintain high quality standards and craftsmanship. Communicate effectively with all departments within the company. Maintain a safe working environment. Identify and communicate special tools needed for operations.

Education and Experience

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent military training or recent experience in an electrical or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Recent experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Recent experience handling fiber optic-related products.

  • Follow verbal directions and apply a common-sense approach to troubleshooting.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Use electrical/mechanical test equipment such as Meggers, Ohm-meters, pressure gauges, dial calipers.
  • Read technical drawings, electrical schematics, specifications, and procedures.
  • Use optical test equipment.
  • Take constructive criticism from peers, leaders, and managers.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Perform shop math calculations.
