About the role

The Oregon Department of Justice, Information Services Section, is hiring a Test Script and Configuration Management Analyst (Information Services Specialist 6) to support the Legal Tools Program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate, as the UAT test script creation expert, test script work in collaboration with Business Analysts, end users, and project team members to meet the needs of the project.
  • Work with business stakeholders on UAT test scripts as artifacts that validate requirements throughout the system lifecycle of the project.
  • Facilitate clear communication between Business Analysts, end users, and project team to ensure UAT test scripts accurately reflect project needs.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain UAT test scripts to validate requirements of product delivery as part of UAT.
  • Prepare and manage data required for UAT execution, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with project needs.
  • Mange configuration baselines to maintain system integrity across its lifecycle.
  • Support environment consistency and data alignment to enable reliable testing, deployment, and auditability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in information systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge, and experience in translating business requirements into effective user-focused tests and leading user acceptance testing.

Qualifications

  • Education will be counted as experience if degree is in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or if a two (2) year accredited vocational training program was completed in information technology or related field.
  • Associate’s Degree (or 2-year vocational training) = Two (2) Years
  • Bachelor's Degree = Four (4) Years
  • Master's Degree = Six (6) Years

Skills

  • Expertise in system configuration management, including version control, environment automation, and governance of complex system configurations.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft's Power Platform.
  • Prowess in developing comprehensive test plans and leading test execution across large-scale, multi-component systems.
  • Advanced skill in requirements validation, including stakeholder analysis, traceability, and ensuring alignment between business needs and system functionality.
  • Advanced skill in user acceptance test planning and script development that mimics real-world user workflows.
  • Demonstrates empathy by stepping out of one's own cognitive biases to understand distinct user frustrations and cultural behaviors.
  • Ability to Translate dense technical information into clear, compelling narratives for end-users.
  • Skilled in managing competing priorities and coordinating tasks among cross-functional staff (tech and business).

Pay

$6,182 - $9,361

Schedule

Hybrid position of remote and in-office work. The office location is the Justice Building in Salem. Occasional travel to office locations throughout Oregon may be required.
