About the role

As a Software/Firmware Test Engineer, you will participate as part of an international project team to develop and release state-of-the-art industrial automation products. This permanent position is based in Johnson City, TN.

You will contribute to testing in relation to the design and implementation of both software and firmware solutions for the Siemens Industry product portfolio. Working in an agile development environment, you will collaborate with a team focused on delivering effective and robust solutions for our customers, including interactions with domestic and international stakeholders.

Attention to detail, proficiency in problem-solving, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute tests for software and firmware solutions within the Siemens Industry product portfolio.
• Work in an agile team to ensure the delivery of effective and robust solutions.
• Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders.
• Analyze complex technical problems and create tests to verify solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in C#.
• Expert programming skills in C# and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Working experience testing firmware for complex runtime embedded environments.
• Practical experience creating moderately complex Object-Oriented designs.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in a STEM-related degree or equivalent experience.
• Practical experience writing new product tests.
• Practical experience in creating automated tests and frameworks.
• Experience with S7-1200 G1 and S7-1200 G2 control systems.
• Experience or knowledge of the S7-1500 control systems.
• Practical experience with the TIA portal programming package.
