About the role
Under the direction of the Senior Director, provide specialized support and on-site coordination for the administration of standardized examinations to university students in a testing/assessment center and provide specialized support and coordination of alternate format document conversion to university students.
Responsibilities
- Administer aptitude, achievement, and other educational measurements at either on- or off-campus locations.
- Oversee the scanning of textbooks and other documents into software to convert scans and PDFs of course materials into various forms of alternative formats.
- Plan and implement procedures for the maintenance and disposition of records, materials, and converted alternate formats.
- Coordinate the distribution of alternate format materials to students.
- Oversee test day activities, including examinee check-in and identification, testing environment, test security, examinee conduct, and supervision of testing staff.
- Coordinate the processing and submission of examinations for scoring to the appropriate faculty or department.
- Confer with students and other interested parties (such as faculty, public school officials, and parents) regarding testing and document conversions, procedures, and policies.
- Serve as liaison with other campus units to coordinate testing and document conversion services.
- Represent testing and document conversion services at various meetings, open houses, orientations, and to the general public.
- Responsible for testing site arrangements, including room selection and selection and delivery of materials and/or equipment.
- Train and supervise testing room supervisors and proctors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
- Course work in education, behavioral sciences, social sciences, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Work experience in test administration methods and techniques.
- Course work in education, behavioral sciences, social sciences, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of educational, evaluation, and measurement principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
- Applied knowledge of data processing concepts.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to resolve problems and answer questions in a prompt and tactful manner.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to learn university policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate records (i.e., test results, answer sheets scanned, departments/individuals served).
