Test & Integration Lead

About the role
Huntington Ingalls is currently seeking a motivated Test & Integration Lead to support the testing of advanced systems and technology. As part of our Tactical Sensor Systems team, located in Syracuse, NY, you will be helping to advance leading edge electronics and communications technologies. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, can work with minimal oversight, and is a “big-picture” thinker who thrives on solving challenging technical problems. You will be leading a multi-disciplinary team in the qualification, testing, and delivery of products with a focus on the end-user/customer. The Senior Test Engineer will regularly interface with a team consisting of software, digital, hardware, mechanical, and product engineers.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest quality of our software/firmware/hardware by developing and executing tests to detect and report any errors in the product.
- Develop and execute suitable test plans and frameworks to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
- Ensure test runs and produces results within the given time frame.
- Perform functional, performance, and regression testing of various products.
- Coordinate with several functions and teams to incorporate necessary product changes.
- Train and mentor junior engineers.
- Report test results and defects to the development team and work on their resolution.
- Provide suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of the development process across teams.
- Provide task break-down, duration estimates, and project milestones during project planning.
- Provide inputs to technical leads and project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables during program execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field with 3-5 years of industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing and executing test plans to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
- Ability to run tests and produce results timely to meet requirements and deadlines.
- Experience performing functional, performance, and regression testing of various products.
- Familiarity with Python or LabVIEW for automating testing.
- A team player with the demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- HWIL & SWIL experience.
- MOSA or similar architecture experience.
- Existing SECRET clearance.
Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $89,378.00 - $135,000.00.
