Position Summary A new position has arisen for a Test Instrumentation Engineer - Technical Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global team. As a Test Instrumentation Engineer – Technical Specialist you will be responsible for instrumentation design, program management, oversight of sensor application, sensor development and measurement technology ownership. This is a dynamic hands-on role with direct interface with the instrumentation lab, assembly floor and engine test teams. What You Will Be Doing To establish a test instrumentation plan within program requirements for sensor implementation on component, subsystem, and whole engine testingTo communicate test instrumentation progress and plans to business programs as requiredTo own the test instrumentation design, development, process for application, measurement technology and test data collection troubleshooting as requiredTo assist with test article assembly and test stand installation processes for proper instrumentation routing and signal identificationWrite department procedures as necessary to improve efficiency and capture lessons learned, as well as help train and develop less experienced engineersTrain and mentor others in instrumentation, special measurement equipment and other specialist areasDemonstrate expert understanding of instrumentation and special measurement equipmentInfluence internal and external stakeholders to develop effective solutionsDefine and implement best practices in instrumentation across the organizationSolve complex and unique measurement challenges to drive product validationMay travel for off-site instrumentation and test support and represent the company while working with the customer Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related business field with 5+ years of experience in technical roles OR;Master’s degree in Engineering or related business field with 3+ years of experience in technical roles OR;PhD in Engineering or related business fieldIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship Preferred Requirements Technical expertise with Instrumentation (i.e. pressure, strain, temperature)Mechanical design experience using computer aided tools such as NXEngineering testing experience in gas turbine systemsExperience interfacing with customers on technical program issuesDemonstrated project planning and management experienceExcellent interpersonal and communications skills including technical writing and presentations Our vision is to ensure that the quality and dynamism that shaped our history continues into our future.
