Test Engineering Technician
Job Summary
The Vertiv Server Liquid Systems team is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform verification and validation of our data center liquid cooling infrastructure, controllers and thermal test vehicles. Work will include test execution, data analysis and debug of systems.
Responsibilities
- Plan, set up, instrument, and operate products and test facilities.
- Support and collaborate with engineers in activities to structure and develop system testing capabilities and products.
- Analyze and improve existing processes & designs, as required.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues.
- Absorb and assist in the development of solutions or workarounds to resolve defects.
- Conduct tests, analyze data and make modifications to units being tested within limits of intermediate nature.
- Requires timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug test hardware, software and product interactions.
- Develop software to automate test tasks.
- Develop test network environments for devices under test.
- Document technical issues and solutions.
- Suggest fixes and improvements.
- Report activities, project status, and plans to team lead and management.
Requirements
- Two-year Associate's Degree + 1 year of experience OR at least 4 years of experience in IT, HVAC, or cooling system industries.
- Confident with data acquisition systems (DAQ).
- Familiarity with setting up software stress tools.
- Thermocouple instrumentation.
- Thermal chamber operation.
- Flow bench operation.
- Electrical circuit debug and soldering.
- Creating and following test plans.
- Compiling data and creating test reports/summaries.
- Familiarity with various testing techniques.
- Experience with developing test automation a plus.
- Experience developing Python a plus.
