About the role

Join our Global Team in shaping the future of connectivity at ASSA ABLOY. As a Test Engineer focusing on both hardware and software components, you will play a key role in our Access Egress Hardware Team, ensuring the highest quality standards for IoT products that enhance safety and visibility. This is a full-time, onsite position in New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, maintain, and execute comprehensive tests of interconnected hardware and software platforms.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to create, plan, and implement test plans, acceptance criteria, and procedures for new and legacy products.
  • Develop manual and automated testing approaches for EM and Micro-based products, including writing specialized testing tools.
  • Participate in the design and development of test automation tools, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Read and analyze schematics, engineering requirements, data, and test results to identify, track, and resolve hardware issues.
  • Manage projects by creating timelines, tracking activities, and meeting delivery and performance commitments.
  • Exhibit leadership in collaborative problem-solving and product development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Capability in PC-based functional test fixture hardware design and test plan development.
  • Expertise in electronic design, embedded micro-controller systems, and collaborative development and testing.
  • Experience in new product development from concept to production.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet commitments.
  • Creative mindset with high initiative and achievement-oriented goals.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Arduino, Flash Programming, BLE, IEEE488, RFID, WiFi, USB, and/or serial communications.
  • Experience developing test solutions for complex products.
  • Experience with Altium, Teststand, C#, and electronics manufacturing.
  • Hands-on lab skills for debugging designs.
