About the role
The Combat Weapons Systems (CWS) Facility Management Group oversees the development and maintenance of hotel services within all CWS laboratory facilities. This involves gathering requirements from Lab and Integration teams, validating them, and collaborating with EB facilities, EB security, government contractors, and others to implement these requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support technical resolutions for complex construction issues related to VIRGINIA & COLUMBIA Class Submarines.
- Perform duties as a D448 Lab Manager, focusing on system operational testing, test execution, and evaluation of results.
- Maintain a prototypical hardware and software development lab, working with system engineers, deck plate technicians, government program offices, vendors, and military personnel.
- Support engineering efforts to resolve fleet identified problems, assess obsolescence issues, and implement modernization programs.
- Work with facilities and vendors to perform repairs and maintenance on AC, power, and other aspects of the lab.
- Ensure physical security policies are met by working with EB Security, including tasks like disabling sensors, installing network or power drops, placing security markings, arranging equipment pickups, and organizing material sightings.
- Provide status reports and metrics to management and/or the customer as needed.
- Develop and analyze department-specific integrated project schedules to support task planning, identify conflicts, and assist in status efforts to ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of work experience in project management, facilities, or U.S. Military service.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
- Prior deck plate construction experience and EB construction support experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to present technical/programmatic content to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to perform typical schedule integrity checks and critical path analysis.
Skills
- Ability to obtain Secret level clearance.
- Self-motivated with the ability to think objectively and drive technical solutions to successful conclusion.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering life-cycle and standards.
