About the Opportunity

The Test Engineer will step into a high-visibility, technical role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust automated and manual testing ecosystems that underpin high-quality software delivery. This position plays a critical role in maximizing application resilience and system uptime by seamlessly integrating automated test suites directly into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Operating within an agile framework, the engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to proactively identify architectural bottlenecks, isolate software defects, and champion strict quality standards across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Architect, write, and maintain scalable automated test scripts utilizing modern testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, or TestNG
• Embed automated regression and functional test suites directly into CI/CD build pipelines to facilitate automated testing and immediate developer feedback loops
• Develop, refactor, and maintain modular test scripts written in object-oriented or functional programming languages including Java, JavaScript, or C#
• Design comprehensive test cases, boundary-value scenarios, and automated end-to-end execution paths rooted firmly in user stories and formal acceptance criteria
• Detect, isolate, systematically document, and track software defects from initial discovery through to successful hotfix deployment
• Collaborate actively with software developers, product owners, and QA architects to align test coverage with business logic and technical specifications
• Execute rigorous manual exploratory testing and automated testing across complex web applications, REST/SOAP APIs, and third-party system integrations
• Utilize advanced API testing suites (such as Postman or ReadyAPI) to validate payloads, endpoint response times, and state transitions
• Perform exhaustive functional, system-integration, and regression testing throughout the core phases of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Conduct backend data validation and database verification by writing and executing structured SQL queries to ensure data integrity
• Maintain highly organized testing repositories, traceability matrices, and execution logs using enterprise tools like Jira and Xray
• Proactively contribute to the optimization of QA workflows, the expansion of automation coverage, and the reduction of manual testing overhead

Requirements

• A minimum of two to five (2–5) years of progressive, professional software QA experience spanning manual exploratory, functional integration, and automated system testing
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline preferred; or an equivalent practical combination of technical education and hands-on software testing experience
• Advanced proficiency using Jira and integrated plugins (e.g., Xray) to manage structured test plans, capture defects, track executions, and compile velocity reports
• Deep conceptual understanding of modernized software architectures, microservices, data-driven workflows, and automated pipeline execution
• Security Requirement: Must possess the ability to successfully undergo, obtain, and maintain a federal Suitability or Public Trust clearance position of trust
• Prior experience writing automated tests within cloud native infrastructures (specifically Amazon Web Services - AWS or Microsoft Azure) is preferred
• Familiarity with performance, load, or security testing methodologies using tools such as JMeter or Locust is preferred
• Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving skills with an enthusiastic interest in staying ahead of emerging QA automation trends and testing tools

Pay Range and Compensation Package
