About the role
Interacts with Engineering and Quality groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for Click Bond products.
Responsibilities
- Use inspection devices (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator etc.) to determine product compliance with engineering drawings and associated aerospace specifications.
- Program and edit the computerized test machine software with minimal assistance from the test area lead or test engineer.
- Perform and assist in training for setup and mechanical testing of test samples including operation of computerized screw and electric driven test machines.
- Maintains full documentation of test program through pictures, notes, tables, charts, and computer printouts.
- Identifies functional problems, suggests resolutions, analyzes test data for trends, and troubleshoots failures.
- Write and review reports of findings that clearly communicate results in the proper format.
- Research archives and provides technical support regarding testing data to internal and external stakeholders for current and new products.
- Prepare materials for test applications, including, machine work, abrasive blasting, hand scraping and abrasion, and meticulous cleaning.
- Aid in the definition of internal quality control standards and maintenance of reliability programs.
- Design and conduct mechanical, thermal, and chemical conditioning programs for test samples.
- Formulate new test procedures and setups with assistance from project lead or product engineer.
- Design & fabricate test tooling for computerized test machines.
- Train and assist other personnel in the test department.
- Maintain test area, equipment, and test samples in a clean and orderly manner.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, and/or other Engineering and electronic drafting and modeling program considered a positive asset, but not required.
- Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
- Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling, grammar, and content; presents numerical data effectively.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in the decision-making process.
- Able to compute averages, standard deviations, ratios, and percentages with minimal assistance.
- Able to draw and interpret statistical charts and graphs with minimal assistance.
- Average computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to read and write in English.
Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science.
- One or more years’ prior experience; if in a related field, industry or work environment is considered a positive asset, but not required.
