Test Engineer, Abuse Engineering

What You'll Do

• Cook up and carry out abusive tests across various projects
• Construct test apparatus like a car crusher, replica buildings equipped with fire suppression, battery chargers, power cyclers, electrical and thermal data sensors, and continuous video recorders
• Identify and suggest enhancements to the test site and equipment
• Handle and resolve issues with test equipment, site electrical power, and IT systems
• Maintain the facility to ensure smooth operations during visits from external teams
• Collaborate with remote teams to organize trips, manage test samples, conduct tests together, and inspect and dispose of post-test materials

What You'll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the field
• An aptitude for fieldwork in diverse conditions
• Experience with programming (ideally Python), electrical communications (CAN), or battery cycling equipment considered a plus
