Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
  • Maintains logs of activities performed including all collections and verifies packaging of specimens; enters data into system.
  • Ensures all paperwork pertaining to collection performed is completed properly including horse name and time of collection; turns in all receipts, paperwork, and samples to the proper designated area.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary worksite; wears required uniform and safety materials as needed.
  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of Veterinary Phlebotomy.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience working in Veterinary Phlebotomy required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of a Veterinary Phlebotomy operation.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
