About the Role

The Quality Technician will conduct various verifications as stated in SOPs to ensure product meets minimum standards. This includes proficiently filling out required paperwork, performing CCP checks, and working closely with department leads, supervisors, and other departments to provide quality feedback.

Responsibilities

• Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
• Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
• Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Perform quality checks such as pit checks, grading checks, or required checks in Repack or Fruit Cup departments.
• CCP trained with ability to perform metal detector and magnet checks.
• Use computer systems, including CDB inventory system.
• Place product on hold when product is out of grade or other issues arise.
• Collect micro samples while preventing contamination by following SOPs.
• Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and report findings to lead or supervisor.

Requirements

• 0-2 years' experience working in a manufacturing or similar setting.
• 0-2 years' experience working in Quality Control or related field.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.
• A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
• Self-motivated and self-starter.
• Ability to work with various employees and employee levels while building rapport and respect.
• Must be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
• Understand and follow all color-coding rules as stated in procedures for utensils, containers, and other equipment.

Location

This position will work out of our Cedar or Alluvial location.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Work in an environment with medium to loud noise and cold temperatures.

• Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects (up to 40 lbs independently).

• Specific vision abilities include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration.
• Exposure to cleaning products and agents for sanitation of equipment and machinery.
• Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code for food manufacturing.
