About the Role

Join RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, as a Production Test Engineer (PTE) within our Hardware Integration Center (HWIC) Value Stream team. In this dynamic and visible role, you will support production testing on complex radar systems, ensuring rigorous testing processes and delivering high-quality, reliable products. This is a 3rd shift onsite position with a 12% shift premium.

Responsibilities

  • Provide test engineering support in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Troubleshoot complex radar and array level issues on the production floor using schematics, drawings, and common test equipment (e.g., Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Spectrum Analyzers).
  • Perform root cause analysis on systemic radar issues and collaborate with feeder areas and suppliers to troubleshoot failed subassemblies.
  • Work daily with union technicians throughout the test process.
  • Interact with operations, quality, process/mechanical, and production control teams to address urgent test needs.
  • Review system-level test data for compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain test station functionality by coordinating with maintenance/test departments.
  • Develop and update factory test procedures as needed.
  • Overtime may be required and is paid.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, including at least 1 year of integration and/or test experience.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, systems, and equipment.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance (interim clearance required prior to start date).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace or defense testing environments.
  • Hands-on electronics aptitude.
  • Prior experience testing complex radar systems.
  • Ability to interpret failing test data and navigate schematic diagrams to diagnose fault modes.
  • Understanding of radar systems technology in test and analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of RF test equipment.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This is a 3rd shift onsite role with a 12% shift premium. Overtime may be required and is paid.
