About the role
Orange County Retina is seeking a Territory Manager to promote its elite Retina specialists and practices across multiple locations throughout Orange County and the surrounding areas. The role focuses on building a strong referral network centered around retinal diseases and conditions, driving patient access to the company's world-class retina surgeons.
Responsibilities
- Build and nurture relationships with Orange County Retina (OCR) retina surgeons and external referring physicians, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and primary care providers.
- Organize and execute in-person visits, lunch-and-learns, and educational events to share insights on retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and vitreoretinal conditions.
- Maximize referral facilitation for retina consultations and surgical cases to ensure the optimal patient experience.
- Develop and maintain in-depth clinical knowledge of retinal conditions, disease states, diagnostic technologies (OCT, fluorescein angiography), and treatment options including anti-VEGF therapy and vitreoretinal surgery.
- Utilize OCR’s best practices for engaging with eye care providers (ECPs), optometrists, and retina-adjacent specialists.
- Establish and manage high-quality communication with all referring doctors and their clinical staff.
- Manage the sales territory as a business to maximize referral volume and patient outcomes.
- Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and territory data to ensure sales goals are met.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan aligned with corporate retina strategy, working within agreed budgets.
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience; medical or ophthalmic sales strongly preferred.
- Experience in retina, ophthalmology, or specialty eye care is a significant plus.
- Prioritize building and sustaining physician relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university.
- Valid California driver’s license required.
