Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for existing and prospective customers within assigned territory
- Develop and grow territory sales through relationship-building and business development
- Identify customer needs and recommend product solutions
- Present products and services to prospective customers
- Maintain product inventory and customer product needs within assigned accounts
- Deliver products and samples to customers as needed
- Report weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance metrics
- Cross-sell additional company products when appropriate
- Compare company products against competitors to demonstrate value
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to improve sales strategy and territory growth
- Maintain accurate CRM records and customer activity updates
- Travel throughout the territory and maintain strong customer coverage
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required
- Minimum 2+ years of outside sales, territory sales, or foodservice sales experience preferred
- Experience or strong background in foodservice distribution, Center of the Plate products, or related food industry sales
- Strong CRM software experience and customer account management background
- Proven ability to develop business relationships and achieve sales goals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while managing a sales territory
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required
- Ability to travel extensively and drive long distances
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and handle product samples/deliveries
- Strong organizational and reporting skills
