About the role

Toast is expanding its POS platform into new food and beverage concepts such as convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops. As a founding member of the Retail Account Executive team, you will help establish Toast’s presence in this vertical by prospecting, building relationships, and signing new accounts. Using a consultative approach, you will identify unique needs and craft customized solutions that enable these businesses to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Use a consultative approach to prospect, build relationships, and sign up new convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops
  • Generate lists of prospective businesses and manage the entire sales cycle from initial call to close
  • Conduct demos and develop tailored solutions that meet prospect needs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure expectations set during the sales process are met in delivery
  • Leverage Salesforce (CRM) to manage all sales activities
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and position Toast effectively in the market

Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial and feedback-driven mindset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision-making levels
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and team environment
  • Self-motivated, creative, flexible, and willing to navigate ambiguity
  • Lives in or near the assigned market and willing to travel 25% or more

Skills

  • Retail operations experience
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their business applications

Pay

The estimated Total Targeted Cash compensation range for this role is $115,000—$185,000 USD. Total Targeted Cash includes base salary, commission, and bonus (if eligible). This role qualifies for uncapped commissions. The starting salary is determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to cash compensation, total rewards include benefits and equity (if eligible).
