About the role
Square is seeking a Territory Account Executive to join its growing field sales organization. This individual contributor role will focus on engaging with restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses in high-potential markets. The role involves selling Square’s ecosystem directly to these businesses, building a strong network, and driving sales through various strategies.
Responsibilities
- Engage with and sell to restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses in high-potential markets
- Perform discovery calls and demonstrations to generate interest and close deals
- Build a sustainable pipeline through regular visits, referrals, and partnerships
- Work closely with onboarding teams to ensure successful implementations
- Drive sales targets and KPIs through effective communication and relationship-building
- Utilize Salesforce to track and report on sales activities and outcomes
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience in a full-cycle closing role with direct field sales experience
- Experience exceeding sales targets and closing complex deals
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Persistence and ability to build rapport with sellers
- Reliable transportation and living in or near the market you serve
Qualifications
- Collaborative and team-player mentality
- Business development experience (hunting and cold calling)
- 2+ years of payment processing or related technology experience
- Experience working in or selling to restaurants, retailers, or service-based businesses
