About the role

Be part of a team that creates an amazing terrain park experience. The Terrain Park Cat Supervisor leads the overnight snowcat team responsible for building and maintaining world-class terrain park features across the resort. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with strong leadership skills, overseeing a crew of Terrain Park Cat Operators to ensure every feature is constructed safely, progressively, and to the highest standard for riders of all ability levels. Beyond operating state-of-the-art snowcat equipment, you'll train new and existing operators, develop nightly grooming and build plans in coordination with the Terrain Park and Mountain Operations teams, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to elevate the crew's technical and artistic execution.

Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour West of Seattle via Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass, The Summit includes four unique mountain areas, a snow tubing park, Nordic center, SnowSports School, and 10+ food and beverage establishments.

Responsibilities

  • Long Term Thinking
    • Participate in design team meetings to plan upcoming builds, snowpack management, identify and problem solve hazards and departmental issues, event planning, etc.
    • Complete all required documentation including equipment checklists, cat maintenance logs, Park Groomer Nightly Reports, and Terrain Park Feature Placement Maps
    • Create detailed Build Maps when constructing new features or relocating existing ones for accurate safety documentation
  • Excellence in Execution
    • Complete comprehensive equipment inspections and checklists, documenting snowcat condition and reporting any maintenance needs
    • Perform meticulous maintenance on all groom-able takeoffs, landings, and transitions for optimal safety and performance
    • Maintain surrounding terrain areas to create seamless flow and safe buffer zones around park features
  • Develop Great People
    • Schedule weekly park operator shifts in conjunction with builds and day off requests
    • Provide continuous training and development of terrain park operators
    • Collaborate with Park Grooming Supervisor on complex projects including new feature construction, jib installation/removal, and special event course preparation

Qualifications

  • Required
    • Demonstrated proficiency with heavy machinery and hydraulic systems
    • Ability to perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
    • Strong radio communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
    • Consistent attendance with strong work ethic and commitment to team success
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
    • Precision-oriented mindset with focus on safety and quality standards
    • Comfortable working in challenging mountain weather conditions
    • Valid driver's license required
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • 5–7 years minimum of terrain park grooming experience required
  • Preferred
    • Ideally 3 years minimum in a leadership role

Pay

The wage range for this position is $28.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Benefits

  • This is a non-benefited role; all individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2-year vesting cliff).
  • All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
