About the Role

The Terrain Park Lead is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the terrain parks and halfpipe, including setup and breakdown for events, and providing outstanding guest relations to all park users. This role involves monitoring the performance of terrain park workers, providing feedback to supervisors, and reporting to the Terrain Park Director.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance including raking, shoveling, salting, and setting up/breaking down banners, flags, signage, and fencing.
• Inspect features daily; close as needed for safety.
• Test features as directed by park management.
• Design and create parks using Google SketchUp.
• Oversee schedule, preparation, and implementation of rail and feature setup.
• Report guest injuries to ski patrol and assist at accident scenes; complete required paperwork.
• Ensure logbooks are completed neatly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Operate salt monkey, snowmobile, chainsaw, and other small machinery.
• Educate park users and promote terrain park etiquette.
• Assist with on-the-job training for terrain park workers.
• Monitor performance of workers and provide feedback to the manager.
• Interact with Ski Patrol daily; call in opening/closing of parks.
• Represent park crew at snowmobile and safety committee meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fluent in English; Spanish language skills helpful.
• Successful completion of ASC snowmobile licensing training.
• Successful completion of ASC chainsaw certification.
• Basic snowcat operating experience preferred.
• First Aid certification preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of park design/layout and event experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safely handling and operating heavy and dangerous machinery.
• Basic understanding and use of Google SketchUp.
• Comfortable working on mountain terrain, including steep grades.
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve team goals.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures; exercises caution when working.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic industry terminology.
• Demonstrates expertise in the technical aspects of the job.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend, or be on your feet for extended periods.
• Regularly work in wet, cold, or hot conditions requiring protective apparel/equipment.
• May be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
