Terminal Operator

About the Role

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats, and trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests. This is a temporary, part-time position with occasional weekend and night work to unload vessels or perform maintenance outside normal business hours.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety, health, and environmental policies in all work environments.
• Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
• Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material (bulk and bagged) for rail, waterway, and road transportation.
• Understand and operate truck loading equipment.
• Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment; assist with general mechanical maintenance.
• Sample product from trucks and barges following company policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.
• Perform clerical functions for recording receipts, shipments, and inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of work experience.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and SAP.
• Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of PPE, including respirators (clean-shaven where the seal meets the face, as required).
