Term Instructor Communication

About the role

The Department of Communication, within the Community and Technical College at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), invites applications for a full-time Term Instructor of Communication beginning August 2026. UAA's Department of Communication serves a diverse student population across Alaska and beyond, including dual-enrolled high school students, first-generation college students, military personnel, returning adults, and English language learners. Responsibilities

• Teach Communication courses at the post-secondary level, including COMM A111: Fundamentals of Oral Communication, COMM A237: Interpersonal Communication, COMM A241: Small Group Communication, and COMM A243: Public Speaking.
• Demonstrate innovative, student-centered teaching practices and a commitment to collaboration in achieving shared goals.

Requirements

• Masters in Communication or related field, PhD preferred.
• Record of college service or demonstrated potential for service.

• Strong background in Communication.
• Experience teaching Communication courses at the post-secondary level.
