Qualifications
- Prepare and cook teppanyaki-style dishes including meats, seafood, vegetables, and rice.
- Perform tableside cooking and entertainment, showcasing knife skills, fire tricks, and engaging guest interaction.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the teppanyaki station and kitchen area.
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to kitchen management.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth service.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest requests or special dietary needs.
- Proven experience as a Teppan Cook, Hibachi Chef, or similar role in a Japanese or Asian-fusion restaurant.
- Strong knife and grill cooking skills.
- Outgoing personality and comfortable performing in front of guests.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Additional Information
- Culinary training or certification.
- Experience with Japanese cuisine and teppanyaki-style cooking.
- Multilingual abilities (especially English and Japanese) are a plus.
