Tenure Track Investigator, Department of Dermatology

About the role

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and expand an established, independent, externally funded research program. The candidate’s focus should fit within the broad research agenda of the department, which includes six main areas of focus: epithelial-mesenchymal communication and epithelial differentiation; genomics/epigenomics; immunobiology; wound healing/regeneration; skin cancer; and nanotechnology and bioengineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand an established, independent, externally funded research program
• Hold a joint appointment in a basic science department with access to graduate students
• Participate in teaching programs, including training medical students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and participating in departmental teaching
• Engender intra- and inter-departmental collaborations
• Be a mentor for the Cutaneous Biology T32-funded fellowship
• Utilize Northwestern’s Skin Biology and Diseases Resource-based Center and other cores
• Facilitate translational research

Requirements

The candidate should have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant field and a strong track record of research productivity. They should also have a desire to train medical students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and participate in departmental teaching.
