About the role
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine invites applications for a federal-funded Research Scientist position. This role will focus on studying Cancer Biology and Stem Cell Biology in the laboratory of Dr. Lu Le, Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology.
Responsibilities
- Investigate how genetic and microenvironmental factors interplay to regulate tumorigenesis.
- Identify the cell of origin and elucidate the role of tumor microenvironment in cancer development.
- Dissect the cellular and molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis from a developmental perspective using Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1).
- Identify possible treatments for balding and hair graying associated with aging.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.D degree preferred.
Qualifications
- Requires a doctoral degree or master's degree with significant experience.
