About the role

Croda is a FTSE100 organization dedicated to Smart Science to Improve Lives™. We specialize in the research and development of innovative and sustainable ingredients for the Life Science and Consumer Care markets. We seek a Skin Biologist to join our North America R&D team in Princeton, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret skin biology research to support the development and commercialization of advanced personal care ingredients and formulations.
  • Lead impactful skin biology studies that bring next-generation ingredients and formulations to life.
  • Translate complex biological data into clear, compelling scientific insights for internal teams and customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with formulation, analytical, and commercial teams.
  • Develop and optimize novel testing methods and technologies for skin analysis.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Skin Biology, Dermatology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (or Master’s with 3–5+ years’ industry experience).
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture and advanced skin models.
  • Familiarity with skin delivery systems and biophysical measurements (TEWL, hydration, elasticity).
  • Strong experimental design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate science into business insights.

Qualifications

  • Required: Ph.D. in Skin Biology, Dermatology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (or Master’s with 3–5+ years’ industry experience).
  • Preferred: Industry experience in personal care, cosmetics, or dermatology.
  • Experience with claim substantiation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of diverse skin types and consumer needs.
  • Experience supporting customer engagements or commercial teams.

Skills

  • Hands-on experience with cell culture and advanced skin models.
  • Familiarity with skin delivery systems and biophysical measurements (TEWL, hydration, elasticity).
  • Strong experimental design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate science into business insights.

Benefits

Annual Base Salary Range: $85,000 to $110,000. This range reflects the base salary the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level. Additional compensation, such as annual bonuses or other incentives, may be offered based on eligibility and company policies.

Annual Base Salary Range: $85,000 to $110,000.

This is a full-time position based at our Princeton, NJ site.
