Tenure-Track: Assistant Professor (TAMSCI)
About the role
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in spinal cord injury research. The successful candidate will join a rich community of spinal cord injury research within the Texas A&M Spinal Cord Initiative (TAMSCI).
Responsibilities
- Bring a robust research program that couples in vivo behavioral/physiological work with cutting-edge tools in neuroscience.
- Complement the department's existing strengths in neural plasticity, imaging, neural-engineering applications, psychological adjustment, and rehabilitation.
- Engage in research, grant applications, and funded projects.
- Teach courses in graduate and undergraduate programs.
- Act as an engaged citizen of the department, college, university, and their field.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated potential for publishing high-quality research in leading journals, writing and obtaining grants, and engaging in high-quality teaching and mentoring activities.
Qualifications
- Outstanding record of research achievement.
- Demonstrated potential for extramural research funding.
- A strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring in psychology and neuroscience.
Skills
- Well-positioned to publish in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals in their fields.
- Ability to obtain grants from federal agencies and/or private foundations.
