Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Adult Development and Aging
The Department of Psychology at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Adult Development and Aging to begin in August 2027.
About the Role
This position is designed to complement and expand the department's existing strengths in developmental psychology, offering a comprehensive, life-course perspective from early childhood through late adulthood. The successful candidate will maintain a cohesive research program that meaningfully engages undergraduate students. The department welcomes scholars exploring a wide range of topics within the psychology of aging, including:
- Individual processes such as cognitive resilience and emotional regulation
- Social contexts such as connectivity and support systems
- Structural influences, including the psychological impacts of the longevity economy or how 'cumulative disadvantages' stemming from systemic inequalities shape the life course
The department is particularly interested in research incorporating critical and anti-colonial perspectives, challenging Western-centric models of development, and centering the lived experiences of marginalized communities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the core curriculum by teaching Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods
- Develop intermediate courses for the Individual, Social, and Cultural Processes or Cognitive and Behavioral Processes requirements
- Create advanced seminars in your area of expertise
- Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive excellence in teaching, utilizing evidence-based, inclusive pedagogies
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in developmental psychology or a related field (required by the beginning of the appointment)
- Excellence in scholarship and undergraduate teaching
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogies

Pay
Starting salary of $102,500.
