About the Role
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Fordham University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in sociology. We seek a scholar whose research focuses on political sociology and who has demonstrated the ability to teach courses in this area. The position will be located primarily at Fordham College’s Lincoln Center campus (in Manhattan) with the possibility of future service and teaching at the Rose Hill campus (in the Bronx) or in interdisciplinary programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in political sociology at the undergraduate level.
- Conduct an active program of research and publication.
- Contribute to departmental and university service.
- Potential to teach quantitative methods at the undergraduate level.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in sociology (must be in hand at the time of appointment).
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level.
- Active research agenda with a focus on political sociology.
Qualifications
Preferences will be given to candidates with:
- Strengths in political economy.
- A focus on the United States in a global context.
- Commitment to cultural and intellectual diversity, advancing equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and service.
Pay
Salary range: $98,526 to $105,000.
