Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Cognitive and Behavioral Science
About the role
The Cognitive and Behavioral Science (CBSC) Department at Washington and Lee University seeks to fill a tenure track Assistant Professor position, beginning July 1, 2027. This position carries a 5-course teaching load distributed over Fall and Winter terms (12 weeks each), and the university's signature 4-week Spring term. Teaching responsibilities include one of our introductory courses (Developmental, Social, or Cognitive Psychology), our Statistics course, courses in their area of expertise, and supervision of student research.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Hold a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely allied field
- Demonstrate a commitment to in-person teaching and engagement of undergraduates in research
- Specific area of research expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates who expand the disciplinary scope of our department's faculty

Pay
The expected salary for this position is between $94,000 - $105,000. Offers are based on factors such as relevant education, experience, tenure status, internal equity, and market and organizational considerations.
