About the role

The Aeronautical Science Department in the College of Aviation (COA) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University—Daytona Beach invites applications for a Tenure-Track 9-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses held in the Department of Aeronautical Science for both the Aeronautical Science and Aeronautics undergraduate degree programs.
• Demonstrate an active or promising research agenda in areas of study consistent with flight operations or other aviation related subjects.
• Excellence in teaching and the growth of a well-developed research portfolio are our top priorities.
• Other priorities include service to the university and a strong commitment to student mentorship.
• Hold an earned doctorate in a related field from an accredited institution and possess a strong interest in advancing aviation education and research through a strong record of publishing and grant procurement.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Aeronautical Science or related field and FAA Licensure commensurate with position requirements.

Skills

The appropriate candidate will have a broad base of knowledge and experience in the operation of large-transport category aircraft or high performance aircraft used in commercial aircraft transportation.
