Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Library and Information Science

About the role
The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) invites applications for one tenure-track faculty assistant professor position in the Department of Library and Information Science (LIS). The appointment will begin August 1, 2025, on the IUI campus.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of a new PhD program in Information Science.
- Collaborate on graduate data science initiatives.
- Teach courses in the LIS undergraduate data science program.
- Develop and teach courses in the ALA-accredited Master of Library Science program.
- Conduct research in areas of special interest such as Community Informatics, community archives, community health, community data, artificial intelligence, and big data.
- Apply research strategies to real-world problems in collaboration with community partners.
Requirements
- A PhD in Library and Information Science or a related field.
- Demonstrated research and teaching excellence.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies.
- Commitment to community engagement and service.
