About the role
The Department of Physiology invites applications for a Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position to complement and extend research in cardiovascular and renal physiology and diseases. The department was recently ranked tenth in North America for total federal research funding and conducts diverse, innovative research on fundamental mechanisms of physiology and translational research.
We seek candidates with active, nationally-funded research programs to complement existing strengths in cardiovascular and renal diseases, diabetes, ion channel physiology, signal transduction, mitochondrial biology, injury, and repair.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a vigorous, creative, nationally funded research program
- Supervise graduate students
- Teach physiology to medical and dental students
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree
- At least 4–5 years of research experience in a physiology-relevant field
- Excellent publication record
