Overview
Tenure track or tenured faculty members are supervised by the department head, director or research dean and may exercise supervision of professional research staff, graduate assistants or fellows, undergraduate, or student employees.
About the role
The tenure-track faculty member’s primary responsibility is in conducting research (80-90% effort) to grow and sustain an extramurally and federally funded research program. A small allocation of effort is towards teaching and service (10-20% maximum).
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in Biomedical and Health Informatics, Data Science, Health-related AI, Digital Health or related fields.
- Apply expertise to areas such as aging, opioid addiction, and neurodegenerative disorders.
- Grow and sustain an extramurally and federally funded research program.
- Teach and mentor graduate students and post-docs (up to 20% of effort).
Requirements
- PhD in Biomedical and Health Informatics, Data Science, Health-related AI, Digital Health, or a closely related field.
- Strong record of research productivity and potential for future success.
- Experience in interdisciplinary and team-based research.
- Ability to secure external funding.
