Tennis Shop & Court Maintenance | The Country Club of Asheville

Two-faceted role: hands-on outdoor maintenance of premier tennis courts plus member-facing shop operations.

Responsibilities

• Daily clay-court grooming: sweeping, rolling, and lining
• Blowing leaves and debris from courts, pathways, and common areas
• Removing trash from courts and surrounding areas
• Replenishing water coolers and cups
• Repairing and hanging windscreens as needed
• Cleaning benches and resetting furniture in common areas
• Watering and drying clay courts as needed
• Assisting with annual court resurfacing projects
• Opening and closing the tennis shop
• Answering phones, responding to emails, and booking member reservations
• Creating marketing materials for programs and events
• Conducting monthly inventory and maintaining shop cleanliness
• Processing merchandise orders, deliveries, and returns
• Stocking the beverage cooler and handling daily billing for lessons, clinics, camps, and other programming
• Providing exceptional service to members and guests
• Attending staff meetings, training, and seminar events
• Performing additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
• Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for long periods
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, member-focused environment
• Basic computer and email skills
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Tennis knowledge or previous tennis facility experience
• Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, landscaping, or maintenance experience
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay

USD $12.00 – USD $16.00 per hour
