About the role
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta seeks a Tennis Professional to join our team. We are a leading non-profit organization dedicated to education, wellness, youth development, and community building.
Responsibilities
- Implement YMCA safety protocols and ensure member/staff adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist students in developing and improving various tennis skills.
- Assess students' tennis skills to identify areas needing improvement.
- Coordinate and conduct individual and group tennis lessons.
- Develop suitable training programs for students based on age, objectives, and individual skill sets.
- Create and manage curriculum for ALTA/USTA practices.
- Evaluate and place new members on ALTA/USTA teams to grow member involvement in tennis.
- Maintain tennis court facilities and equipment in accordance with Risk Management's policies.
- Schedule meetings with students' parents or guardians to discuss their progress.
- Attend students' tennis matches, competitions, and tournaments as required.
- Record and report schedules and rosters for adult tennis programming and assist with ensuring payments are collected.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working as a Tennis Professional or Instructor.
- Sound knowledge of various coaching techniques.
- CPR within 30 days of employment and must maintain the certification throughout employment.
- Certification through the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is advantageous.
- The ability to motivate students.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A passion for tennis.
