Tennis Pro

About the role

Supports the resort’s tennis program through leading tennis clinics and giving lessons. Provides resort guests and owners with direction and information regarding the tennis and activity department and other services. Maintains a motivational, welcoming, clean, and relaxed atmosphere for all who utilize the tennis and related facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, and welcoming demeanor and superior guest service
• Enforce tennis rules and etiquette governing the use of tennis courts, tennis equipment, and resort property
• Provide competent tennis instruction for all levels of players, including children, via tennis lessons and daily tennis clinics
• Effectively communicate with and motivate large groups
• Efficiently schedule all resort guests and owners for tennis and activities
• Process all cash, credit, and charges incurred in the tennis and activities center
• Inspect tennis facilities daily to ensure they are safe for play and take appropriate action as needed
• Assist guests with croquet, bocce ball, ping-pong instruction, merchandise sales, mountain biking, and hiking inquiries
• Relieve Activities Center staff for breaks and assist guests with hiking or biking queries
• Keep all activities areas and facilities clean and organized in cooperation with tennis pros and grounds crew
• Create the tennis court schedule, blocking out times for groups, reserved spaces, social events, and activities
• Answer phones and questions regarding court times, facilities, and costs
• Promote and sell all specials and promotions ongoing through the resort
• Ensure tennis supplies are maintained and place orders with the Tennis Supervisor as appropriate
• Maintain safe and clean equipment and ensure repairs are handled in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• USPTA or USPTR certification and NTRP 4.5 level or above rated player
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail knowledge helpful
• 2+ years resort customer service experience preferred
• Vast knowledge of the resort and local community
• Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with ease
• Computer skills required
• Strong team member relations
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Excellent physical health with the ability to play tennis consistently without long breaks
