TENNESSEE STATE PARKS (TSP) ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER - 08242026-80441

Location: Department of Environment & Conservation, Paris Landing State Park Lodge, Buchanan, TN (Henry County). Full-time position.

Pay

$3,631.00 monthly ($43,572.00 annually).

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
• Two years of work experience in the food service industry.
• Additional coursework at an accredited college or university in dietetics, food service systems administration, or other acceptable field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for some positions.
• Willing to obtain the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Server Permit within 61 days of hire.
• Willing to obtain Manager-level food safety certification within 90 days of hire.

State of Tennessee driver standards: For the past five years, the candidate's driver record must not include DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of the restaurant and catering-related events.
• Assist in training and developing restaurant service staff to ensure a positive guest experience and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Ensure restaurant employees are properly trained on the use of chemicals, equipment, food and beverage service, and food safety.
• Resolve guest disputes, welcome suggestions, and meet special requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Evaluate service staff on menu knowledge, attentiveness to customers, and completion of shift responsibilities.
• Prepare shift schedules for restaurant employees based on projected business volume to ensure optimal coverage and profitability.
• Oversee the cleaning and setting up of meeting spaces based on customer expectations.
